A series of arrests has culminated in the apprehension of Rizanur, Deputy for Sinope in the Turkish Parliament. 1 The official version of the affair states that a conspiracy was discovered to massacre the Ministers-Elect in the new Par- | liament, and reinstate the dismissed functionaries. In popular opinion it is thought that the arrests are. merely a high-handed method of dealing with the opponents of the existing regimfe.
