THE PARAFARAUMU AFFAIR. A REMAND TO OTAKI. Charles King, alias Hatley, and Frank Dean, alias Wilson, were arraigned and charged: That, beiug armed with offensive weapons, viz., revolvers, they attempted to commit robbery (accompanied by threats of violence) from Young Tim.

Sub-Inspector Norwood applied for a remand until Monday next, tho accused to .appear at tho Otaki Magistrate's Court.

Mr. T. W. Hislop, wlio appeared for tho lads, mentioned that King's father bad been in business at Petonc for several yours, and that Dean's mother was a widow. Ho aslced his Worship to fix the bail as low as possible.

The remand was granted, and bail was fixed in tho sum of and one surety of a like amount.
