London, July 8.
. The South African Cricket Association's decision not to send a,team to Australia, in tho absence of a financial guarantee, has caused great disappointment and regret in high cricket circles. Cricketers cannot understand tho question of a guarantee preventing the tour. They consider the South African decision means tho abandonment of triangular matches, and also of the Imperial Cj'icket' Conference, which was oagerly anticipated.
It is declared-that if tho triangular schemo fails, the question will arise whether -South Africa could claim to como to England" in 1911.
Tho Marylcbone Club will have to consider this point when the full particulars aro received.
' Leading cricketers declare that it would bo an infinite pity if tho tour in Australia was abandoned. They hope that South Africa will givo tho matter further reflection.
