Messrs. Dalgety and- Co., Ltd., report:--We'. held l^ur. fortnightly,''sales at Wanganui on Wednesday, - and -at Waverley on Friday last. At Wangaiiui the wet weather prevented several lines of sheep from coming forward. We yarded 180 cattle and ICOO. Bheep. 'l'he sheep were of rough class, and did not call for much competition. Cattlo sold well. At Waverley wo had a medium yarding of both cattle and sheep. Competition for all classes was good, and we effected a good clearance under the hammer. We held a dairy clearing sale near Waverley on Tuesday, on account of Sir. \V. K. Council. There was a large attendance of buyers aud the bidding was very spirited. On Thursday we held a clearing sale at Matawhitia, Mangainhu, on account of Mr. 8. Board. There was a good attendance of buyers, and all lots met with keen competition. Quotations:— Wanganui sale—Full-mouth ewes in lamh, Bs. 6d. to 10s. j store wethers, lZs. 7d.; lambs, Bs. to Bs. Gd.; cull lambs, 2s. Id. to 2s. 9d.; wcaners, 305., 325., to £2 45., to £2 10s.; fat cows, £4 10h., £5, to £5 10s.: 18-month steers, £3 6s. Gd.; two to two and a halfyear steers, £4 to £4 Bs. Gd.; throe-year steers, £5 75.; store cows, £2 13s. 6d.-, run cows, in calf, £3 155.; cows and calves, £4 Is.; dairy cows, £5, £5 55., to £9 ss. At Waverley—Two-iootil wethers, 13s. lid.; four and six-tooth wethers, 14s. lOd. to 15s. 7d.; full-mouth ewes, in bmb, 12s. 2d.
