MAILMAN'S DEATH.

THE NORTH AUCKLAND MYSTERY. The Press Association forwarded yesterday the news of the death by a gunshot wound of James Anderson, mailman, between Tangateroria and Mauugakaramea (north of Auckland), which we received the day before from another sonrce. The association telegram states that some time ago Anderson was an inmate of the Avondalo Mental Hospital. The post office ■ authorities received a further message yesterday to the effect that tho mail had been delivered by deceased's brother, from which it is gathered that the missing mailbag has been found. How Anderson came by his death is still shrouded in mystery, but the police are investigating the matter.
