o WATERLOO CUP MEETING. (By Tolegrapa.—Special Correspondent.) Palmerston, June 26. The New Zealand Waterloo Cup meeting was concluded yesterday at the Manawatu. Coursing Club's Plumptou, at Terrace End, when the finals for the Waterloo Cup, Plate, and Purse were run. There was a good'attend- • mice, and the sport was interesting, the hares running particularly well, and only three kills being recorded. Visitors from all parts pronounced tho meeting to be one of the most successfully and satisfactorily conducted Waterloo Cup meetings held for several years. The cup was presented on the ground by Mr. R. Lloyd, the club's president, and Miss Richards placed the blue ribbon round the winner's neck. Results are as follow: — WATERLOO PLATE (Winner, £15; runner-up, £5; third dog, £4; and three dogs, £2 10s.). Second Round. Cardiff boat Massoy-Harris. i to 1. Sleeve-Link beat General Carrier, 4 to 2. Royal Carrier beat Field Day 8A to 5. Somi-Final. Slenve-Link beat Cardiff by 3 points. Royal Carrier, a bye. Final. S!eeve-Link beat Roval Carrier, 4 to 1. In the final courso between SleeveLink and Royal Carrier, the former started a hot favourite. Owing to a gruelling course that Royal Carrier had in runnim; a bye just previously, Sloiive-Link fully justified tho expectation of his backers, winning with a margin of three points. WATERLOO PURSE (Winner. £15; runner-up, -Co; two dogs, £3; and three dogs, £2 each). Rubcroid beat Balaclava, 3 to 1. Headlight beat Dominion, a to 3. Gold Top boat Jewel Hox, 5 to 2. Gold Dust, a bye. Scmi-Fin.nl. Headlight beat Ruhcrc.irl. 51 to 4. Gold Dust beat Gold Top, 5 to 1. Final. Gold Dust beat Headlight, 5 to 2. Headlight started favourite, owing to bis previous running. He allowed Gold Dust to get sli'-'htly the advantage of the lead and secured tho lirst turn, after which Headlight only secured one turn, leaving his opponent the victory, with a few points to spare. Headlight is a young (log, and appears to lack experience, but showed considerable pace, and is a dog of great promise. WATERLOO CUP (Winner, £70, and Cup presented by jlrssrs. liarraud and Abraham, together with a blue ribbon presented by Mr. T. Richards; runnerup, £L'li; two dogs, C 8 each; three dogs, £5 each: six dogs, t'J each).

Fourth Round. Kilcoo beat Gold Quartz, 14 to 12J. Millbank beat Romany Lass, 0 to 7. Foghorn beat JJiittcriiy, 7 to 5. Sunflower, a bye. The Gold Quurtz-Kilcuo course was the longest of the day, some lino work being put in by both dogs. Millbank, who defeated Romany Lass, gained a rr little in the lead, which advantage lit i , first succeeded in sustaining, the bitch !" proving a good worker, Butterfly led " away from Foghorn and secured the first turn, but having a nasty spill let - Foghorn in to kill, the latter winning a by two points. Scmi-Final. :1 Millbank beat Kilcoo, sto 2. ■ Foghorn beat Sunflower, 3to J. Millbank had considerable difficulty 0 in gaining a short lead from Kilcoo, - and succeeded in taking the -first turn, 1 and killed after an exciting cuurso. Foghorn rapidly drew away from Sun--3 flower, turning by several lengths, but . slipping slightly he allowed Sunflower to wrench tlie only score that tho bitch obtained. 3 Filial. i Millbank beat Foghorn, 3to 1. s Prior to this course two undecided '' events were run. the first being 3 to 3 11 and the second' 10 to 10.
