TWELVE MONTHS AFTER.
DEAD MAN IDENTIFIED BY HIS TEETH. A MISSING NEW ZEALANDER. By TelejrraDh—Press Association—Copyright. (Rec. June 2*l, 9.10 p.m.) Sydney, June 24. An unknown man, who was buried ' twelve months ago, was identified ■ today by his teeth. On. June 26 last his body was found at tho Prospect dam, Sydney, with a. bullet wound 1 in. the forehead. A diary was found in his pocket,, but without a name. ■ Certain entries, however,' led to a. friend of a man named Oryer, who was missing from home, writing to the New Zealand police. After much trouble specimens of ; Cryer's writing were obtained from his-' father in London. - These proved that the diary belongedto Cryer. The description of the body, however, in no way tallied with, that of Cryer. The latter liad left his home in, thai Otago district of New Zealand on May 16, and an entry in the diary' said: "Leave Wellington, six p.m." Tho assumption Was that Cryer had) sailed to Sydney. Cryer's father stated that his son' had peculiarly-mended teeth. The body was exhumed and the teeth, as de-i scribed by the father', were found, thus/ establishing the man's identity.
