STEAMER WAKEFIELD RETURNS TO PORT. STORY OF HER CRUISE. NO TRACE OF MISSING VESSEL. Dy Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright. (Rec. Juno i'o, 0.3 a a.m.) Melbourne, June 24. The steamer "Wakelield, tho vessel which has been searching for thb missing steamer Waratah, has arrived. Not a vestigo of wreckage was seen during her search. Tho whole cruise ' was characterised by gales. Lieutenant Seymour, of the cruiser Hermes, with five Navy men', formed j a search party, and visited Marion, tho Twelve Apostles, the Crozets, Possession, and Kerguelen Islands. They enquired at Saint Paul's, Amsterdam, and ' other islands. At Marion Island the weather was so' bad that a boat was smashed in the surf, and the Wakefield had to leave a party ashore for five days, till tie weather moderated.
