Tho barometer fell everywhere during Wednesday night, but rose after midnight in the far south, and has been steady today. Very rough weather and heavy hail squalls were experienced in Foveaux Strait. Jiaiit fell on all the western coast, and was heavy also iu the far north. Westerly winds prevailed and moderated to-day, with an improvement in the weather. Present indications are for a temporary rise in the barometer, but increasing haziness and cloudy weather, showery iu parts. will probably prevail.
