LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.

6FOUR REAPPOINTMENTS. The Government decided yesterday to reappoint' the Hons. H. P. WigTam, of Christchurch, T. K. Macdonald, of Wellington, W. Beohan, of Auckland, and S; Thorne George, of Auckland, to tho Legislative Council for a further term of seven years. It is understood that it is not intended to reappoint the Hon. Mahuta, whose term of office has also expired. As far as can be gathered, the Government will not in the meantime fill the vacancies in the Council caused by tho deaths of the Hon. H. Feldwick (Otago), the Hon. R. H. J. Reeves (Nelson), the Hon. Jas Holmes (West Coast), and the Hon. F. Trask (Nelson).
