MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.
The Missions to. Seamen Institute was crowded by an appreciative audionco last evening, when Mr. Aitken provided an enjoyable concert. Mr. J. Moore, tho Missioner, 'occupied the chair. The programme, which.was of a first-rate • order, was contributed to by the following:—Song, Miss Baker; recitation, Master Power; song, Miss Mueller; duot, Misses Cunimings; euphonium solo, Mr. Goodall; song, Miss Levy; song, Mr. Aitken; recitation, Miss Clater; song, Miss Picket; recitation, Miss Pearson; song, Mr. Beid; song, Mr. Johnston. Several glees were rendered by tho Kilbirnio Presbyterian Church Choir, under the baton of Mr. Aitken, 'and a few popular choruses were sung by. the, audience. Tho accompaniments were played" by the Misses Douglas, Tomlinson, and Goodall, and Mr. Aitken. A conundrum competition, which caused a good deal of amusement; was won by sailors from ships in port. During a short interval tho Missioner delivered an address on temperance.. Eight, men subsequently took tho pledge. Hearty cheers were given for. tho, performers, and light: refreshments were dispensed.. . .
