L-0 MINISTERIAL CONTRADICTION. ' During the past day or two there has been a persistent rumour to the effect that the Chief Justice (Sir Robt. Stout) intended to resign, and that his position would be taken by the Hon. Dr. Findlay (Minister for Justice). It was further reported that the reason why Sir.Robert Stout was giving up the Chief Justiceship was that he had been offered' tho High Commissionership, vice tho Hon. "\V. Hall-Jones, who had decided to resign. Upon inquiry of the Hon. Dr. Findlay, a Dominion reporter was informed that there was absolutely no foundation for the rumour.
