The. president (Mr. i M'Donald, of Pvaia) «'b in tho choir. 110 annual report contained a recorn- ! mendation that the open special classes 1 for members only at the National Dairy j Show should bo continued annually. { Tlio balance-sheet showed an amount of , £27 18s. 7d. to credit, and that 49 members had paid subscriptions during the. past year. Revised rules were submitted to tho meeting, and wore approved. A recommendation was adopted that the association should be registered under the Incorporated Societies Act. f Twenty-three now members were en- c rolled. ( It was resolved that, in futuro, a branch factory managers should bo ad- s mitted to the membership of the asso- c oiatkm. ' 1 The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr. J. Oday (Taranski); vice-presidents, Mossts. W. _C. Dixon, J. Middleton, M. T. West, and F. J. M'Dcnnld; committee, Messrs. H. Campbell, C. H. Dunford, J. Anderam, H. W. James, W. T. Guild, C. J. Parlane, and J. Simpson.; secretary, c Mr. J. Murray; auditor, Mr. BendaH. ' Mr. Murray was voted a. bonus of Jj ten guineas for his services as scctctary. He stated that he would contri- r bute fivo guineas towards a challenge r cup either for butter or for cheese. (Apr plauso.) v It was agreed thai two challenge c . cups should bo offered by the association, for competition—one for. butter \ and the other far cheese, those to be i won. twice in succession or tlvreo times s at intervals. Association that eerti- Q ficatcs should be issued to those who had attained first, second,' and third ( places in tho New Zealand champion- ,s ships for butter and cheese. Some dissatisfaction was expressed regarding the butter championship, seeing thai tho grading at the various ports was not always done on the same basis. It was suggested that there should be a championship for each, port, so that all competitors in tho proposed championships would have their butter I graded by the same man. : Mr. o'Da.y said that he could see. no ] way of arranging tho conditions of a competition so that any man could { fairly be called the champion buttermaker of New Zealand.
