The Government's attitude towards immigration and defenco was a happy augury that they would follow a wise] and patriotic policy, and do what was best for the Commonwealth as a whole, irrespective of class considerations. [The Australian Estates and Mortgage Company, Ltd., was registered in 1891. Tho company was formed to take over properties, etc., in New South Wales and Queensland from the Union Mortgage and Agency Company, Ltd.]
