Playing at Napier on Tuesday evening, J. W. Read, the New Zealand champion cueist, conceded Mr. W. T. Mawson, a local amateur, points, in a game of 750 up, Keid running out. when jtiawson's score stood at 051. The champion's best breaks were 151, 107, and Sfi, whilst his opponent's best were: *17, 44, and 11. At the conclusion of tho game Read treated the audienco to an interesting exhibition of trick and fancy shots.
