On Sunday evening next m tho Town ( Hall the Wellington Professional Orchestra and leadiug local artists will tender a grand benefit concert to the Wellington Garrison Hand instrument fund. Ihe orchestra oji this occasion will be under the able direction of Mr. Herbert Bloy, the acting conductor who will make his first appearance in Wellington as luusi-,-cal director at this concert. A full and complete programme will appear iu Saturday's issue. Admission will be free, a silver coin collection being made .at the doors. Mile. Isnard, who was counsel for tho defence of a soldier at a court-martial, held at Avignon, is the first woman to plead before a military tribunal.
