THE PRICE OF BREAD.
TO EEMAIN AS AT PRESENT. Members of. the Wellington Musbes Bakers' Association met last night to discuss the matter of the price of flour. At present the prico per ton landed in Wellington is ,£lO ss. Kd. For some time past the price has ruled at .£ll ss. 6d., and at that price, according to the sliding, scale adopted by the association. The price of bread should have been Bd.tha lib. loaf, but it has all along been sold at 7d., which is the price, according to the sliding scale, which should obtain when flour is at ,£lO 10s. per ton." All this considered, it was decided that the price of bread shall remain as at present. In Auckland, with flour at 311 6d.; consumers were stated to be paying 8(1. for the. 41b. loaf of bread.
