NEW MANOEUVRE GROUND.
SOME OPINIONS. IBy Tole&ruDU—Press Association.■ Ghristohurch, Juno 3. Military men iii Ciiristchurch regard the site on the banks of the Waimakariri, selected for a camp for the Territorials, as a very good one.- Its configuration is not as' suitable as might bo desired) but it is very accessible. The Waimakarird country is flat, except for hollows made by the river. These are often from six to eight fee,t deep, and the sides go down so steeply that a man and horse, when going at a good pace v ovor apparently level ground, might*'suddenly disappear from view, having turned head over heels in ono of these depressions. It is expected that this will make .the place somewhat difficult for drill. However, it is thought the site is an admirable oi:o on the whole, but it cannot be used, oven as far .as the bed of the river is concerned, for artiilory firing.
