PALMERSTON DAY BY DAY.

(By Telegraph— Special Correspondent.) Palmerston North, June 2. The funeral of the late Dr. Maclntyre' took place this afternoon, and was very largely attended by settlers from aO over the district. There were also present a largo number of members of '■the various lodges, tho Masonic fraternity being fully represented, the impressive service of tlie craft being conducted at Hie lodge room, and at the graveside. The Ivev. 0. C. Harper conducted the funeral service. A large number of beautiful wreaths were sent.

It is stated (though not proved) that numbers of people were out at four o'clock this morning waiting to book seats for "Madam Butterfly."
