BOY SCOUT NOTES.

One of the Scout kinematograpli p!o« t tires taken last Saturday week was thrown on the screen at the Town Hall. It gave a very lifelike. representation of the seeno which it was intended to 'depict. A Scout-masters' meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 7 at 7.30 p.m. in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms. The Auckland District Scouts are favourable to the proposal to offer their services to the cadet' department. Regarding the first annual Scout competition arrangements are being made to hold same in the Concert Chamber of tho Town Hall on Saturday evening, June 25. Jlr. C. J. Crawford, of the Executive Committee, has given a banner for the best hut-building patrol, while Mr. W. S. Moorehouse, also of the Executive Committee, is offering a banner to the best first-aid . squad. These banners are to be cbmpeted for annually. Mr. Stuart Robinson, has agreed to give an inscribed medal to tho best Scout signaler, and a medal is also to be given to the best Scout bugler. These competitions are open to aiiv troops in the Wellington Scout District, and are being held this year in conjunction with a Scout entertainment organised by the Te Aro troops, known for the time being as the "Te Aro Battalion .of Boy Scouts." The conditions governing these competitions tire to be submitted for the approval of the Scout-masters' Association on Tuesday evening next.
The Boys' Institute. No. 2 Troop has been registered, and is composed of tho "Otters"' under Patrol Leader IT. Plant, and the "Beavers" under Patrol Leader R. M'Carlie. Tho troop is under the command of Seigeant-Maior W. S. Pointon.'
A weekly non.-com.'s class is a feature of the work of tho Boys' Institute Troops." Seoufc Chaplain Shirer visited the. troop last Friday evening, and was accorded a liearty welcome. Scout-Master M'Donald, of the Mount Victoria Troop, was also a visitor. An interesting talk by the Scout Chaplain was a feature in tile proceedings of a pleasant evening. •
The Boys' Institute Troops are endeavouring to arrange a debating contest with one of the other troops. Any other troop which feels equal to the contest should communicate with Scont-Haster Martin.
