Mrs. ' Fildes, who, while cycling, got in front of a train at a crossing at Teinuka yesterday afternoon, died this morning from shock. Mrs. Kldes was badly cut about her head and .face, but no bones were broken. MAN KILLED AT OTIEA. Christchurch, June 1. The "Star's" Otira correspondent telegraphs that Frank Brosnan, a timberiijan, employed in the tunnel at Otira, was killed this morning. He was knocked down by one of the trucks, which ran over him.- Brosnan was a steady man, a native of Ireland. FOUND DEAD IN HIS ROOM. Christchurch, June 1. Frederick William Isaacs, aged about GO, was found dead in' his room at Mrs. Broadwood's boarding-house, Salisbury Street, at a quarter to seven o'clock this evening. He was a married man, and his wifo resides in Sydney. ■ Deceased was well-known in town, and for some time past has been doorkeeper at the Theatre Royal. SUDDEN DEATH. Westport, June 1. Mrs. IJ. A. Young, wife of the engineer of the Westport Harbour Board was found dead lying on a bed, where she had gone for a rest about 4 o'clock this afternoon. Hor family includes Mr. H. A. Yonng, S.M., Queenstown, and Mr. G. H. Young, Government Irrigation Engineer, Otago.
