THE QUEUE SYSTEM.

|. Sir,—A few days ago we learned, £ro» your columns .that Mr.. J. C Williamson, was bringing over a strong .combination of musical talent to play grand opera in this city. Along with a nnmber of other folk, I cannot afford the luxury of> a reserved • seat, but am prepared to go early and wait some time if by so doing I can obtain a fair position, in the house. The trouble is, however, that the earfj. bird does not always catch the worm, orrather, he catches it merely for some, marauding individual who, arriving late upon the scene, by sheer brute force robs, ■the patient qno of the position his fore-" sight has gained him. I would suggest to Mr. Williamson, that he instal thei queue system at the Opera House, in; order that those who arrive early at the. doors may obtain that just treatment to , which they are entitled. While on this subject, it might be well to suggest also that the system be introduced at therailway booking-offices. It is annoying to wait , for your turn at the window and, then see some brutal, pushing newcomer, devoid of all decency and courtesy, push in before you and receive his ticket, while all you can do is to anathematise, an, antiquated plan which seems more' fitted to crush your corns and spoil 'yoinv temper than to expedite the sale of railway tickets.—l am, etc, ■ BATIENTIA.
