Sir,—Would you kindly aXktv me a small space in-your valuable paper in reference to the management of Qm Wellington Boring Association in pro, moting contests. I noticed in one of the papers that at a meeting held recently they reported a loss on the Clarkfriecia( contest. It beats me how fiat can be, the case, considering the paltry iporset that was given—about half of what $■ should have been. There must have been fnlly a house. No wonder so many 'fakes" are fought A nice inducement for boxers to fight fair. Give a decent purse and you will get clean sport, not before. In Australia the boxers would nave been given the opportunity to contest for the "house," but that is not the case, here—not enough profits for the association, the.t's why. Another item on thelist is the bantam limit. Practically all tho associations favour Sst, 21b. Now, why should that be so, considering throughout the colonies Bst. is the limits and not more. I had better enlighten them in regard to all weights :—Bantam, SstL;-feather-weight, 9st.;. lighWeight, lOstjl welter-weight, 10st 91b.; middle-weight, list 41b.: heavy exceeding the latterweight—l, am, ,etc, 'A LITTLE KNOWLEDGE,
