CAMPAIGN TO BE CARRIED SOUTH.

Auckland, May 8. The street collection taken up by a band of ladies on Saturday resulted, in £203 17s. 3d. being handed in to the Knyvett Defence Com'mitteo to continue the fight on Captain Knyyett's boltalf.' Mr. G. S. Dickson, chairman of the Knyvett Defence Committee, stßtcs that ho accepts the result of the collection as an earnest desire on the part of the Auckland public to carry the campaign into tho southern electorates. The committco accordingly proposes to hold indignation meetings at Hamilton, To Kuiti, New Plymouth, Wanganui, Wellington,- and probably at Christchurch and Dunedin. A meeting of tho committee will be held on Tuesday next' to decide a definite plan of campaign. "
