HERETAUNGA MOUNTED RIFLES.

ANNUAL MEETING. The Heretaunga Mounted Kifles held their anmnil mooting on 'Wednesday, May 4, at the Garrison Hall, Bucklo Street. There were thirty members present, with Captain Samuel presiding. The annual report and balance-sheet were read and adopted; It was decided to equip tho squadron with a new uniform similar to tho old pattern of khaki. This will havo to go before the OQicer Commanding the District, and, if it is passed by him, tenders will immediately bo called for the supply of same. 1 It was decided to purchase a championship belt for competition among members of the squadron, tho winner of same to receive a gold medal. Tho conditions for tho belt aro that it has to be won three times in succession, or four times at intervals, in order to becomo the property of any member. , Tho following shooting trophies won during the season were presented:— Rose-bowl presented ,by Mr. Poterkm, won. by Sergt.-Major Dement; breakfast cruet presented by Mr. Gadsby, won bv Sergt.-Major Dement ; £1 Is. trophy presented by Mr. Philip, won by Sei'gt. 'i'obin; ladies' bracelet presented by Sergt. Millett, won by Trooper Allan; wristlet, won by Trooper Cable; banting crop, won by Trooper Edwards.
