Wellington Convalescent Home,

.The sixteenth annual report of the Wellington Hospital Convalescent Home has just been received, and tells of a sue ccssful year. One hundred and twentyfour patients were received during the year, the average stay, being eighteen days,, ata cost of 3s. 05d. per day. The trustees are very, pleased with, Miss Oakley's' excellent management, tho patients speak highly of hpr kindness and attention. During the year many gifts have been made to the home, a kindness which We trustees - acknowledge, with thanks, making ■ special mention of u donation ot^2s'from. Mrs. Rhodes, which enabled thorn to purchase a.piano for the use of the inmates of the home, and added much to their pleasure. Mrs. Grady's resignation from, the board.of trustees was received with great regret, Mrs. Grady having for many years been an ardent worker/ and.supporter of the home. Miss Grace Morrah had. also resigned, and ,the position of secretary falling vacant, it was filled by Miss Ethel Nathan. A Farewell.Luncheon Party. .Before' departing for/ England Mrs. Tuson is giving a series of luncheon parties., Her guests of "yesterday (among them ; Mrs. Newman and 'Mrs.' Tweed) must have enjoyed not only' a very recherche lunch from the hands of a master chef, but revelled in theirbeautiful surroundings. The guests'sat at small tables, dotted abo'nt a simply-fur-nished room, which no doubt was designed to show off the dainty and bril-liantly-appointed tables which shone with clear cut glass and glistening silver. A single vase of varied shades of chrysanthemums just gave the necessary touch of colour, thrown, up by the snowy, damask. Mrs. Tuson is a .charming hostess and hei hospitality will.be much misled.

The hall and reception rooms decorated very prettily with autumn foliage', crimson.berries, and long. trails of lycopodium, a style of decoration most. appropriate to the season when winter has not yet come, but the chilly nights make dancing a delight, such as the. summer had almost-for-gotten. Mrs. Collins received in a frock of' white silk with 1 touches of emerald green and diamond ornaments; Miss Collins s pretty frock was of white silk, and it was noticeable that a large proportion of' the girls present also wore white.
