Francisco service in. the event of Congress passing the Subsidy Bill, Mr. J. H. Crimson (president of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce) has received a message from Mr. J. D. Spreckels, of the Oceanic Steamship Company, to the effect that the matter of route and ports of call between the United States and Australasia would be a question of arrangement between the highest bidder and the postal authorities. Mr. Spreckels expresses doubt whether the Bill will pas' jnto law.
