HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARDS, AN IMPORTANT RESPONSIBILITY.

The election of the new combined Hospital and Charitable Aid Boards under the Act passed last session will take place to-day. The Wellington Board will nnite the functions hitherto discharged by the Hospital Board, Hospital Trustees, Charitable Aid Board, and Benevolent Trustees. In view of these heavy responsibilities, and the. importance of beginning the new system under the most favourable auspices, it is most desirable that the electors in large numbers should take the -trouble to record, their votes, with a view to electing the strongest possible board. Every citizen whose name is on the municipal roll - is competent to vote. The hours of voting are from 9 a.m. till 6 p,m. ■ ,
