Ma Mic Rosette and Armistice. are this year to visit Charlemagne 11. Among the mares, already booked to Achilles aro Kitchenraaid (Soult —Lady Cuisine) and Shepherdess (dam of Boris). Mr. G.. E. Moore has a yearling colt by Birkenhead from Miss Penelope, that is said to be the ■ colt- the Karamu horse has:yet sired. .■:•..•-.. Mr. J. B. Jackson, who won the Adelaide I Grand National on Saturday . with DecepI tion, won the same event last -year'with 'tho aid of Mundiaba.,.,,"' . '• Scotty,. who is now ten years old, has developed wind trouble since. going to Riccarton, .and ho now makes, a noise when galloping. The imported filly Wet Day has made- a great impression on the-Riccarton trackwatchers, and the general opinion is that she will win a race during the week. The Chevalier was represented on Saturday by Deception, winner of.the Adelaide Grand National, and by Nightlight, winner of the Australian Hurdle Eace. !'■ Our special correspondent telegraphs that at a committee meeting of the Hawkc's Bay Jockey Club on Saturday, Mr. G. Hunter presiding,'it was.decided that.£3oo be added to the stakes next season, and that the entrance money be reduced. It is estimated that the reduction. will save owners £480 in entrance fees. ■•.......■ ■ j. Stewart went through to Christchurch on Saturday night with two-of Mr. G. F. Moore's mares that are to visit Boniforni, viz., Helen Portland and Carrara (CravatMantelpiece-). After the Grand National meeting, Stewart brings back a yearling filly by Vladimir—Ma Mie Rosette. New Zealand-bred horses were prominent in several races at the Caulfield meeting on Saturday. ■ Mr. W. T. Rowe, who now owns Nobel, won a race at the V.A'.T.C. meeting this time 'last year with another New JJealandrbred, horse—Pcterhof. Haoremai, '■who won-'the,Steeplechase, may-bo the New Zealand, librae of that -name', but', ae/the entries for his, race closed, late, there will be some-doubt until the Australian mail ar-. rives to-night. .. • . ; Mr. E. Mansfield, who won the Australian -Hurdle Race with Nightlight, is now,in a measure recompensed for the accident that befel. At-aahiia before 'the big Flemingtoii fixture. Nightlight used to be ridden by M'Cabe, but he has not been in the saddle on tho last couple of. times on which tho horse, has. started. Nightlight .is /probably trained by H. Harrison,:-not. by D. J. Price. P. Burn did not ride Nightlight as reported j as he was engaged some time ago for Bribery.
