r JOINT COURT AND LAND CLAIMS. (By Tolcsraph.-Prcss Asaoolatlon.-CopyrlsbU (Rec. July 8, 10.10 p.m.) London, July 8. Tho Under-Secretary for tho Colonies (Lieut.-Col. Seely) was questioned in tho Houso of Commons as to ft vote of £38,000 appearing in tho Imperial Estimates in connection with tho New Hebrides.- , , Lieut.-Col. Seely said he was not prepared to recommend any expenditure in tho surveying of land claimed by 'private individuals. Tho Resident Commissioner and his staff would actively support British interests. , T.ho Joint Court alono would deal with the validity of French claims. He did not anticipate any chango in tho general position with regard to land claims.
