Jnly B,' 11.20 p.m.) London, July 8. - In opening the science building erected by St. Paul's School to commemorate its fourth centenary, Lord Curzon referred to the manner in which the school of late yeara had icßpondod to the requirements of the period. lie stiongly deprecated tho" spirit of pessimism and self-depieciation current among ourselves! ISt. Paul's School, London, was founded in 1509 by John Cold, D.D., Dean of St. Paul's. The school consists of 153 foundation 6oholars, elected bj; competitive examination, and of so many capitation scholars as tne governors may from time to time decide. The capitation Goholars pay ,a t tuition f"o of J224 9s a year. The foundation scholars are exempt from fees. Pupils number about 580. The governors give annually, nine exhibitions for four jears, varying in value /from .£7O to £% to tho scholars proceeding to Oxfoid and Cambridge, and one exhibition of ,£SO for two years for a boy proceeding to tho Royal Acatiemj,, Woolwich.] ,
