NEW BUTTER-FAT CONTEST.
A butter-fat.contest for the next show at Now Plymouth is proposed. ■ At a meeting of .tho'Taranaki A. and P. Association'last..week, a letter was road from Mr. A. Buchanan, Jersey, Holme, Palmerston North, offering a donation to the prize fund and suggesting that two guineas of rit' be used in providing prizes for a butter-fat competition on the lines of the Palmerston competition, the cows to be u/uler the control of the society for ten days, arid to bo bred from purebred registered sires. ; i Mr. ,A. H. Street, of 801 l Block, offered to place at the disposal of the society -two convenient paddocks and stabling accommodation: in the ovent of, it being docided to hold the competition.: Messrs. Buchanan and Street were accorded the hearty thanks of the society for their generous offer,- and a committee was set up, comprising tho president and Messrs. Smith and Wood, to viow tho paddocks and report at next monthly meeting.
