It is not probable that Ngauruhoe will bo as active as last mouth, but :wha'tever outbreaks-may occur may bo expected about, tho-19th. The conditions are not so pronounced as.formerly. This .present poriod is the conclusion of tho major seismic period for tho year, but in the courso of'a few months it is likely that tlioro will bo a minor poriod showing most activity in tho Northern 'Hemisphere; which will boar tho brunt of the'seismic action predicted from the 17th to tho 23rd inst. Mr. Stevenson further states that ho would not bo surprised to hear of shocksnext month in tho latitude 'of San Francisco, though not of a sovero character.'
