A POULTRY EXPERIMENT.
Carterton (says our local correspondent) possesses some keen poultry enthusiasts, one of whom.is making arrangements to-tost the egg-producing capabilities of twelve purebred rL hens, for a period of twelve months. It is contended by many that, hens, aitor their second year, are not profitable for eggs, and it is "the idea of the local fancier to endeavour to show that, under ordinary conditions, and careful feeding, they can be made to show a profit.
