SYDNEY EASTER SHOW.

was crowded with country visitors 8t iiastor, and many from other States, for mo big agricultural 'show, and tho racemeeting at Itandwick. The show, held annually at Moore Park, is (says our Sydney correspondent) getting bigger every year. Inere was a great display this time of horses and cattle, and it ; was interesting to note that in tho Clydesdale sections, stock bred m New Zealand, and shown by Caiiiroy and Murphy, of Victoria, gained a number of first awards. Tho well-known iMdershe breeder, Mr. ■ J. B. Reid, won champion, lirst, and third prizes for his Border Leicester sheep. The show of sheep is not great at Easter, as there is a show specially for them later in the" year, but, nevertheless, the display included some verv fine animals, and the victories of Mr. Rc-id's stock were all the more praiseworthy. Tho show of butter proves what New South Wales is doing on its north and . south coasts, probably amongst tho richest dairy regions in the Commonwealth; bat everyone who' thinks of the future' of this industry must agree that it is timo Australia followed the example of Now Zealand, and passed an Act making the grading of -dairy produce compulsory.- For some reason, such a. measure is bitterly resisted by those concerned m the dairying industry, but it will iavo to come.
