COMMERCIAL .TRAVELLERS' v, CENTRAL , CLUB. . An enjoyable four-rink match was played on the Wellington Green yesterday afternoon between representatives of the' Commercial Travellers nnd the Central Club. Both clubs threw all their "Dreadnoughts" into action, the Central mustering up a couple of Ministers of the Crown (the Hons. J.'A. Millar and .T. Carroll). Central, fought a fair fight, but its teams were feund to lag 17 behind on the aggregate scoro at the finish. Tho cards were as follow.—Commercial: Smith, Dixon, Maver, Churchward (s.), 19; Central: Davy, Elavoll, Millar, N. M'Lean (s.), 19. Commercial: Gcorgetti, Gale, Brown, Hueston (s.), 18; Central: Wylie, Blake, Carroll, M'Kerrow (s.), 16.. Commercial: Muir, Blanchard, 0.- Stevens, Moult (s.), 2i; Central: Haybittle, Stephens, Hickson, Leslie (s.), 17. Commercial: Focke, D. M'Lean, Bush, Russell; Central: Lindsay, Mftntefiore, Knapp, J. A. .Plimmer, 17. ki tho conclusion of the game the health of the Central Club was proposed by Mr, Hueston, and responded to in happy speeches by the Hons. Millar and Carroll and Mr. F. W. Haybittle. It was proposed that the fixture should be an annual one. and that a return match as well should be played each season. At a meeting held on Tuesday evening it was decided to form a bowling club at Khandallnh. The following officers were elected:— President, Mr. J. A. Plimmer, sen.; vice-presi-dent, Mr. J. G. Harkness; lion, secretary, Mr. W. Burke; lion, treasurer, Mr. E. Davy; committee, Messrs. Dumbell, Crump, Stafford, Cameron, and Batham. It was decided to acquire a site for n green on the old croquet lawn of the picturesque Izard estate, and to immediately make a start with the work of formation, which, it is expected, will be sufficiently advanced to enable the green to be played on next season. The club has a membership of over sixty. ' HUTT CLUB. The following four rinks from the Hutt Club will play a friendly game on the Wellington Green on' Saturday next:—Barlow, Jnrld, Trevethick, 'Callender (s-); Pole, F. Hendry, Hollard, W. Hendry (s.); Cudby, Ollernshaw, Mowbray, Macaskill (s.); Murphy, Eliott, Heiirj-, Stevens (s.).
