HOCKEY.

Y.M.C.A. CLUB. In presenting the sixth annual report of llio Y.M.C.A. Hockev Club, the committee state that, for the first time in tho history of he club, it was able to place three teams in the field, and at the 190S annual meeting it was decided to re-enter senior ranks, a decision that proved to be a wise one, when reviewing tho season's results. For the second year in succession the club has won the junior championship, and the team is to be heartily commended for its efforts, more especially, when it is remembered that most of the inniqr team were playing in' the third-class grade in 190/, and the players who won the cup in that year, wero senior last year. Tho senior team was unfortunate in losing the services of sevcra plavors at different parts of the season, and to this fact is attributed the. final result not being quito as good as it promised to bo at tho beginning of the season, lhe following records of the respective teams show concisely. 1 the positions -. attained-.—Senior—Matches played. 1-1; wau, fi; lost, 8; goals for, M; against, 50; points, 12; gaining fifth place in tho championship. Junior—Matches played, 13; won, 11; drawn, 2; goals for, 78; against, 19; points, 21; thus winning' the championship. It will b'e noted that this team was not defeated once. Third-class—Matches played, 15; won, 8; lost, 7; goals for, 57; against, 42; points, W; tho team finished third. The'following plavers took part in representative games:—Junior—A. C. Parker, G. H. Parker, and E. C. England. R. H. Parton was selected I in the senior B team. The committee desiro to place on record their appreciation and thanks due to the following gentlemen, who donated to the club's funds:—Messrs. Fossette, Brown, and Reynolds, and also to Mr. M'Leod for again placing his ground at their disposal. Mr. Fossette is also to be thanked for his gift to tho rooms of a framed photograph of the junior team. It is with regret that the losi is chronicled, by departure from the city, of Mr. F. S. Sims, of the senior team, and Messrs. P. Benton, A. C. Robbie; G. H. and A. C. Parker, all enthusiastic members of the junior team, the latter proving himself to. be an able captain. . ,'
