Win, Coope'f and Nephews, the well-known stockbreeders and proprietors of Cooper's dip, have' of. fered, through Professor Gilrutii, a scholarship of £25 per annum.', tenable for four years, to be competed lor by Victorian youths. This offer has been made in recogni>nition of the efforts made by the Government of Victoria to advance scientific veterinary education in establishing and liberally endowing a veterinary faculty and school on up-to-date lines in connection with the- Mol. bourne University. The Hon. G. Graham, 'Minister for Agriculture, the Hon. G. Swinbume, lato Minister for the same Department, and Messrs. Tye Brothers, proprietor! of the Allandale Stud Fnrm, liavo each offered to Professor Gilrutii a gold modal to bo competed for annually by the students. These donations indicate very stronglj that the action of the authorities receives the warm approval of tho public. Plans for the new buildings to bo erected on the spacious sito granted for tho purpose by tho Melbourne City Council arc in tho hands of tha architect, and it is expected that theso premises, estimated to cost about £10,000, wiU bo completed before tho end of tho year.
