CROMWELL HOSPITAL.

An adjourned meeting of the Committee of Management of above Institution was held in the Town Hall on Thursday evening —-the President (Mr Dawkins) in the chair. The following members were present:— Messrs Starkey, J. Taylor, Solomon, Marsh, W. Taylor, Arndt, and Gudgeon. Minutes ,of previous meeting were read and confirmed, after which outward correspondence was read. Draft of an agreement between the Committee gnd Dr Stirling was submitted to the meeting and approved of. The President reported that, in accordance with resolution at previous meeting, himself and fir Starkey had waited on the raceowners with a view to make favorable arrangements for water supply to the Hospital. The owners were firm in their determination not to .allow the water to be taken but from a spit about 300 yards from the Hospital. Their reason for this was, that if taken from g nearer point, serious damage might occur slips in the hill, which would entail considerable expense io repair. Under these circumstances it would be necessary to get a quantity of piping to carry the water. After some conversation, It was proposed by Mr Gudgeon, seconded by Mr J. Taylor, and carried—That the subcommittee’s report on water supply be approved, and that they be instructed to procure the necessary piping. The Bye-laws Coumittee brought forward their report, and submitted a code of rules for the Government of the Institution. These were gone through seriatim, and, with a few amendments, approved and adopted. Messrs Arndt, Goodger, and Taylor were appointed a Visiting Committee. Tenders for supplies to the Hospital for the ensuing six months wore then opened, and the following accepted :— Bread— Mr J. Scott; meat —Mr J. Dawkins ; millc —Mr T. Johnston ; grocerits and medical comforts — Mr J. Hazlett; fid—Mr W. Bell. This concluded the business, and the Committee rose about midnight.
