SOCIAL AT PUERUA.
The annual social of the Puerua Presbyterian Church was held on the luth inst., when there was a good attendance, Bov. Mr Watson occupying the chair. After the singing 0 f the "01,1 Hundredth" and a prayer bv Ray, y\ r Currio, the following programme was gone through :—Warepa (Jhoir, "Praise ye the Lord," "Send the light" "Gather homo," "Room i» the heart for Jesus"; Mrs T. Stewart, "Take mv hand and lead inc, Father"; Mr L. L (Smith, "The last mile-stone." The first speaker was Mr \V. s. Thomson (treasurer), who gave a clear statement of the financial position of the The other speakers were Rev. s, \y Currie and Rev. Mr Williams, |j U t|, whom gave interesting and instructive addresses. The ladies of the rongwation provided an excellent service 0 f freshments, which was ilone full justice to. The following votes of thanks wore passed: —"The Singers," proposed by Mr A. Morton; "The [Speakers," |, v jj r J. Mr Currie. A very pleasant evening was brought to a close with th» benediction.
