WAREPA SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The Warepa School Committee met on the Bth inst. There were present Messrs Milligan (in the chair), Couslin, Christie, Stewart, M'Neil, and Clark.

The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed.

The Treasurer reported that he had received the proceeds of soiree, LlO 16s 6d, and from Education Board the quarter's allowance of L 5 ss, wliich, with balance in hand, amounted to Ll9 Is Id. He had paid for timber L 5 10s 6d, to carpenters L 4 10s, and for nails and expenses of soiree L 2 2s lOd, and on cheque Ll, amounting in all to Ll2 4s 7d, leaving in hand L 6 16s 6d, from which other accounts remained to be paid. The Chairman reported that the pro-

posed work in front of the play shed was completed, hut that nothing was done as yet Lo the dwelling house. •>, It was moved by, Mr M'Neil and seby Mr Stewart, " That this Committee nominate Mr A. C. Begg (Dunedin) to the seat on the Education Board rendered vacant by Mr de Lautour's resignation." The motion was unanimously agreed to.

It was agreed that L 2 be expended in providing fuel for the school, and 10s for postage, &c.

It was moved and agreed to, "That readings be held during the moonlight evenings (with a^dance at the close), and that the first take place on the evening of Tuesday week, the 16th instant, to commence at 7.30 o'clock precisely."
