CONCERT AT KAITANGATA.
A concert in aid of the funds of the Kaitangata Public Library was held in the school-room on Friday evening. The attendance waa, considering the state of the roads, good.
Mr W. Shand, who occupied the chair, made apologies for some ladies and gentlemen who had promised their services but were unavoidably absent. The programme of the concert, though short, was remarkably good. Mr Hamilton and two of his children came forward for the first time, and-gave most valuable assistance. Master Hamilton literally brought ( down the house by the artistio manner in which he gave a comic song ; while Miss Hamilton was almost as successful as her brother. Mr Stoddart gave a reading in his usual happy style, which caused much merriment, Songs were also given by Messrs Shand and Hislop in capital style.
The entertainment concluded with the usual dance. Messrs Clements and Aitchison supplying the music.
