OTARIA SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
. * A meeting of tlie Uiaria School Committee was held on Wednesday last, there were present Messrs James Scott (chairman pro teia. ), Nelson, Robertson, Gordon, and .furvis, The minutes of the previous meeting were read and coiiiii'LCied. Mr Gordon proposed that the Stoney Creek School boundary do within a radius of three miles. A discussion ensued, and ultimately an amendment by Mr Purvis, seconded -by Air .Nelson, that further proceedings in ths> matter be adjourned. till next meetiu^, was carried. It was moved by Mr Gordon, and seconded by Mr Nelson, that Mr Thomas JJain be instructed to construct two new desks for the school at a cosb of two guineas eacu. — Carried, ' It whs resulved to cull for tenders for -erecting about 33 chains of sod and wire fencing, coutractor^ to iiud all material^ aso leaders for delivering four tons of coal at the sehoolhouse, the coal to be carted either from Pukerau railway station or Maiaura bridge. . Une or two stnail accounts were passed for payment, and tho meeting adjourned.
