WAREPA SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the Wnrepa School Committee ■was held on Friday evening. The members were all present. Mr T>. Milligau was elected Chairman, Rev. Mr Waters, Secretary; and Mr Christie, Treasurer, for the ensuing year. The Auditor's report was given in, adopted, and ordered to be entered in the minutes. It showed that th.c Committee had laid nut on school buildings, &c, during the years 1876-77 the sum of £117 17s Bd, leaving a balance in hand of £2 J9s 7d. . It was moved and resolved— " That this Committee co-operate as far as practicable with other Committees of this County, or of neighbouring Counties, with the view of combined action to secure the election of at least one local member to the Education District Board," and the Secretary was instructed to correspond with other Committees or wait on them in reference to this matter, and also that lie endeavour to obtain from the Rev. Mr Bannerman his consent to bo. nominated as a candidate for membership in the said Board. •'....
The Committee unanimously agreed that the school be at the disposal of the Rev. J. Waters for the purpose of giving the children of the dis-
trict religious instruction at any time not within the ordinary school hours. Ifc was itgreod that the play-shed be floored with wood, Mi 1 Christie to furnish to Beg? and r->hfi:ldan tho siz<?.s and quv.ifcitv of wood no?.de<l, and Mr Coupon volu'iteorodjj to. carry the same without charge, and that the work be proceeded with without delay. Mr f'ousten save notice that it was his intention, when the time came, to move that this Committe nominate Mr John Soraervillc, Waitepeka, as candidate for election to tuo^Education District Board.
