SOUTH MOLYNEUX ROAD BOARD.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board was held on Thursday, Jan. 31. Mem Tiers present — Messrs Henderson (chairman), Jowitt, Brugh, Hay, Johnston, Steven, Christie. Smith, Melville, Paterson, Lees, M.'Leari,sml Griffiths. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. The Clerk was instructed to take the necessary steps to get the piece of road through Nathan Yeilch's property (Pueru subdivision) conveyed to the Board. Mr "William Griffiths was appointed member for the Waitepeka subdivision in. room of Mr Telford, resigned, and took Ms seat at the Board. The Commitie? appointed to report on Run jSTo. 122 recommended that the rates for this year be expended in the Ahuriri subdivision, and in the Puerua subdivision for the three succeeding years. — Report approved of. The Treasurer reported that he had received the sum of £19 10s, collected in the Upper Owake Flat, as special rate, the Board having agreed at last meeting to give a subsidy of £ to £ to the amount of £20. It was resolved— "That Mr "WiPiam Griffiths having «iven notice to the Board of closing the road through his property, Waitepeka su h. division (Port Molyneux to Balcluthn road), tho Chairman be requested to notify the same to the Chitha County Council, and i-equest them to take the necessary steps to have the road opened for traffic. The Committee appointed to allocate the applications to run cattle on the Port Molyneux reserves gave in their report, recommending that every householder in Port Molyneux subdivision be entitled to run two head of cattle on payment of a fixed sum, and owners of land to have a right, on payment, to run two head for every fifty acres of land. -Report adopted. Three tenders were received for Contract jSTo. 131, "Waitepeka subdivision, namely, George Balloch, £7 18s ; Robert Inglis, £6 15s ; James Miller, £3 17s 6d— and tht.t of James Miller was accepted. Five tenders were opened for Contract No. 1-32, Catlins River, namely, George Balloch (15 feet road) £100 10s ; Edward King, £87 ; Joseph Sandlant, £80 ; Wright and M'Laren, £75 ; Richard Crews, £64— and that of Richard Crews was accepted.

Richard Crews' tender for Contract jSTo. 133, Catlins River, for the sum of £7 19s, was also accepted. The Inspector was instructed to call for tenders to clear water tables in the Almravi subdivision, and the erection of a bridge on Barratta creek at Shieis' gate.
