Gladioli Club's Meeting
The monthly meeting of the Horowhenua Gladioli Club at.racted a large .attendance, incluffing some growers from Otaki. Arrangeme.nts for the weekly shows, to commence on January 4, were ad vanced a further stage. Schedules are in the course of preparation, embracing novice, amateur and open classes. Two special decorative classes are included. It was resolved that entries, for which there will be. no charge, close at 7.15 p.m. oii the day of the show. The judging is to be undertaken by a panel of three, to be changed at each show, and placings will be justified at the conclusion with a brief explanation.^;. .... 5..,, ' A paper was read on work for the month. It 'dealt with watering liquid manuring, staking and tying, correcting buds and general matters. Discussion of the points followed.
