Owners And Land Required For Sports Areas

What;: would be the position if the ldnd owners did not repiy? Could they hold the matter up indeflnitely? These questipns were asked by Cr. G. McKinley, at Wednesday night's meeting of the Otaki Borough- Council, .during discussion of the decision of an earlier special meeting to ask the owners of land it was proposed to secure for sports areas if they would be agreeable to sell to the council. Councillors agreed that owners had not had much tirne in which to reply. The Mayor, Mr. C. F. Atmore, intimated that the next step in the event of replies not being received was to serve notice to take the land under the Act. If it was intended to serye notice to take, then a proper plan deflning the boundaries should be prepared., It was agreed that. a' provisional plan should be seciired. •• v* '

Cr. McKinley asked.' , .
