New Motor 'Camp Ready For Holiday Season
Camp booldngs are already being made with the Otaki Borough Council for the forthcoming holiday season, reported the acting town clerk, Mr. N. D. Anderson, to Wednesday night's meeting of the council. .This report was favourably received, especially in vjew of the fact that the latest Automo'bile Association handbook has omitted to mention : the- new camping site. As the former camp had been mentioned regularly, the omission-is to be brought to the association's hotice. The works committee having re-: commended that three .ohimneys be purchased, the tender of Mr. J. Retter for the removal of buildings from Fordell for reerection at the new camp was accepted, subject to the approval of the Audit Department. Mr. H. Caxmont has been appointed camp caretaker, with the council's employees to give assistance where required. The latest report also made menfcibn that electricity had been connected to the camp. The council decided that the time was opportune to publicise the camp and axivertising is to be carried .out. One further tender for the purchase of one of the few remain-. ing sections in the subdivisidn opposite was accepted at the meeting.
