NEW PLYMOHTH, Decr 14. Protesting at the payment of Is 6d in the £1 social security tax, Taranaki superannuitants are to take the flrst opportunity of approaching the Prime Minister, Mr. Holland. "We feel we have a real grievapce and I have no doubt he will give sympathetic consideration to 0 our, request for some relief , ' ' said Mr. C. F. Waters at a meeting of Post and Telegraph Depart'ment superannuitants ' at New Plymouth today. Criticising the attitude of the former Minister of Finance, Mr. N^asli, towards representations made to him on nxany oceasions by the Superannuitants ' Assoeiation at Wellington, Mr. Waters said Mr. Nash had given little ' a.ttention to the matter. " Mr. Nash, told the executive he could not exempt. oue section of the community but he forgot that while he was taking ax from us, lie was debarring us from the age tienefit," Mr. Waters commented. It was a subjeet, he declared, which concerned not only superannuitants but also all persons still in the Government service.
