Dux Award At College Won By Alan Armstrong
The honour of being Dux of Horowhenua College for 1949 goes this ye'ar to Alan George Armstrong, only son of Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Armstrong, of Ihakara. This announcement was made by ihe principal, Mr. N. A. Byrne, during the prize-giving and breaking-up ceremony at the college yesterday. Alan secured his School Certificate last year, which was his first year in the. sixth form. This year he has gained his honour of Dux at the unusually young age of 15£. and he now holds the distinctioii of being the youngest Dux of the college in recent years. Next year he will be returning to the college and will probably sit for his Jnnior University Scholarshrp, specialising particularly in science. Proxime accessit is Duncan McKenzie Lindsay, aged 16, son of ,Mr. and Mrs. A. Lindsay, of Manakau. VWAVAV.V.WWAVW.'AV.
